[I] contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to life himself up by the handle
~ Winston S. Churchill ~
Our country survived without a federal income tax from its inception up until 1913, where it was amended to our Constitution in order to bypass the original intent of the founding fathers and levy a direct tax on American citizens.
As Senator, I would introduce the Liberty Amendment to the Constitution, which would eliminate the Federal Income Tax and repeal the 16th Amendment, replacing it with nothing. This would give every American a 7-10% pay raise across the board and force cuts within the federal government.
If we, together, could cut spending back to 1990s levels, then the U.S. Government would not even need to steal money from our paychecks, and every citizen could keep every penny from their hard work.
